In my years of witchcraft, I\’ve come across so many wonderful people. I\’ve met all different types of magicians from all different paths of Magick. One thing that has seemed to be a common theme is that everyone had something they excelled at. Each magician I\’ve met had one particular magical thing that they could do nearly effortlessly. It was always a natural talent. These aren\’t things they had learned in a book or been taught by a more experienced magician. These were powers that existed inside them, that they felt out and experimented with until they grew into specialties.
It is my firm belief that everyone has a special spiritual gift. It may be the ability to heal away destructive energy by touch. It may be the ability to divine through tarot as easily as reading a news article. It may be the ability to see the spirits around you as easily as seeing another person. There are so many natural gifts that I\’ve witnessed in my journey, and they are always awe-inspiring.
If you haven\’t discovered your gift yet, keep looking and you will find it in time. I can\’t tell you a sure-fire way to find it, but I can give you some pointers.
Get familiar with your energy. Get familiar with your personality. Spend the time and do the shadow work to really understand who you are. After all, the first rule is Know Thyself. When you know who you are as a person and you know who you want to be, it will become easier to figure out your role in the magickal world. You will get an idea of where you fit in. When that happens, start trying to do things related to that.
Try to read runestones.
Test your senses with herbs by seeing what vibes an herb gives you, then read up on it. Were you right?
Go to the cemetery and see what you see and hear.
Spend time with the frail and weak. Do they begin to see improvement?
Try to think about tomorrow. Write down what you think of and on the next day see if you were right.
You will be drawn towards your gifts naturally so, if you think of something to try, it\’s worth trying. It may come quickly or it may take years but don\’t give up. You have a gift and you\’re meant to use it. The rest of us depend on you using it because you play a role. Don\’t forget that. You and what you can do or will be able to do is valuable, invaluable even. Don\’t give up. Ever.
